The boy and the old note. Part 1

There are many worlds in the Multiverse and all these worlds are filled with countless stories, this is one such story:

In a different world from ours in a world filled with miracles and magic, there lived an orphan young boy on the streets of a small town. He survived by eating left overs that taverns threw away.
One day, while this boy was searching though the garbage near a Tavern, he finds an old bottle with a piece of paper inside. The boy managed to pull out the piece of paper and look at it. There was a handwritten message on it, but the boy could not read. So he put the piece of paper in the pocket of the dirty pants he was wearing and continued his search for food.
Later after he had managed to find something to eat and the sun had begun to set,  while he was looking for a place to sleep, an lady approached him, thinking that boy might be hungry she gifted the boy some apples to eat.
He thank the lady for her kindness, he also asked her if she could do one more small favor for him, so he showed her the note he had found and asked her, if she could read it for him, she agreed.
When the lady looked at the note, she realized it was a very old note, written in an older version of the language that the people spoke these days. So she explained to him, that she could only approximately tell him what was written on the note because it was an old language that she did not understand well. The boy told that was alright, so the woman tried to read it.

"If heart kind to terror ugly, visit the water place, night middle."

After the lady finished reading the message, she told the boy that she had no idea what this message could mean. The boy told that it was alright and that it was not so important, it was just an old message he found in a bottle and he was curious about it. He thanked the lady again for her help and left.
Afterwards the boy found an empty stable that he could use to sleep in it.
As he was lying on the hey, he was thinking about the message and what it could mean. He figured that water place could mean a river or a lake and that night middle, most likely meant midnight. As for the first part of the message it was something about kindness in heart, but he was not sure it had to do with ugly terror.
